Housing & Meals
Housing
CIEE Taipei provides a variety of accommodation choices to make sure you feel at home while abroad. Moreover, all accommodation options are situated in neighborhoods with easy access to public transportation, shopping areas, cafés, and food establishments.
Standard Housing: Includes a twin-bed room in an apartment within a 60-minute commute from assigned workplace. Room amenities include desks, chairs, closets, electric (electrical current 110 Volts/60 Cycles), AC, and complimentary internet connection. Coin-operated laundry machines are available.
Select Housing: Includes a twin-bed room in an apartment within a 30-minute commute from assigned workplace. Room amenities include desks, chairs, closets, electric (electrical current 110 Volts/60 Cycles), AC, and complimentary internet connection. Coin-operated laundry machines are available. Select housing requires an additional fee.
Select Plus Housing: Includes a single room with an en-suite bathroom within a 30-minute commute from the workplace. Room amenities include a desk, a chair, a closet, electricity (electrical current 110 Volts/60 Cycles), AC, and complimentary internet connection. Coin-operated laundry machines are available. Select Plus housing requires an additional fee.
A note: The default criterion to assign housing is first-come, first-served; however, other factors may also be considered. If we cannot accommodate your first housing choice, we'll let you know before you arrive.
Meals
Meals are not included in the housing program. Taipei has a diverse culinary culture that caters to all palates and preferences. Students with specific food restrictions or diets are welcome to approach our staff for recommendations.
Academics
As a global intern in Taipei, you’ll work in a non-paying position within a wide range of opportunities across a diverse set of innovative industries. Extracurricular cultural activities in and around Taipei complement your coursework and immerse you in the history and culture of the city.
This eight-week program includes a full-time internship and an integrated academic course.
Internship Opportunities
Internships are capacity-limited and competitive. They are offered in English and Mandarin Chinese. Students with higher levels of Mandarin Chinese may have more internship opportunities available.

To help you budget, keep in mind that students are responsible for the cost of international airfare, local transportation, books and supplies, visas, and personal expenses. In addition, your college or university may charge additional fees for study abroad, or may require you to receive a transcript via CIEE's School of Record, which carries an additional fee of $500.
Program Fees
CIEE offers the most student support of any provider in its program fee, including an airport greeting, full-time leadership and support, orientation, cultural activities, local excursions, pre-departure advising, and CIEE iNext travel protection with benefits.

Students are responsible and manage costs related to travel, meals, books, and personal expenses. Below are estimates for consideration.
Financial Aid
CIEE offers the most grants and scholarships of any study abroad organization, including $8 million/year in travel grants, merit-based scholarships, institutional and MSI grants, and Gilman Go Global Grants.
